NRSW 22 National Host

Victoria is the proud host of National Road Safety Week for 2022.

Over the past five decades, Victoria has achieved substantial reductions in the number of lives lost on our roads, however, in 2021 232 people lost their lives and many more were seriously injured.

Aligned with Australia’s National Road Safety Strategy, Victoria’s 10-year Road Safety Strategy (2021-2030) aims to halve road deaths and significantly reduce serious injuries by 2030 as we strive towards zero road deaths by 2050. To achieve such goals, we need to embed a culture of road safety within the community.

The National Road Safety Week provides a great opportunity to not only raise public awareness about the importance of road safety, but what we can also do to improve road trauma outcomes.

The national launch of National Road Safety Week will be on Sunday 15 May in Melbourne, hosted by the Transport Accident Commission, the Victorian Government and the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group at The Edge in Federation Square.
