NRSW Highlights
The story behind National Road Safety Week
In five short years, the support for National Road Safety Week (NRSW) has swelled across Australia.
An initiative of the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group President Peter Frazer, National Road Safety Week is observed around the country in capital cities, major towns and remote areas.
National landmarks, buildings and bridges, including Elizabeth Quay in Perth, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Melbourne Star, Hobart Town Hall and Brisbane’s Gateway Bridges, glow yellow across the week as a reminder of the 1200 lives lost on Australian roads each year.
In 2018, Mr Frazer and his wife Judy chose Perth as host the national launch with Road Safety Minister Michelle Roberts with the honour of declaring NRSW 2018 open.
Hear Mr Frazer share the story of his daughter Sarah, the reason behind National Road Safety week in Australia.
